GPIO means General Purpose Input Output .This are the main and important part of raspberry pi.These pins are very helpful for developing Raspberry pi Projects.The pin outs are very different in each model the figure will given below for the reference.Each pin have different properties same functional pin have same color in above figure.These pins are used to connect the real world sensors to the pi.The pin yellow color is general purpose pins and others are special function pin also ground pins.

Configuration is the important part in raspberry pi projects.First we need to setup Raspberry pi ,So we need some components. List below Raspberry Pi (Any Model) Power Adapter or Power bank Memory card sd or sdhc class 10  Image File of OS (Operating System) A Laptop or PC Win32diskimanger-Software Monitor  Keyboard and Mouse Step 1 Download OS and Win32diskimager from a PC or laptop. Install Win32Diskmanager.exe .Open  Win32Diskmanager.exe and connect memory card in usb port. Then Write the image to Memory Card. Wait for some time to Finish. Currently there is two Operating System available Raspbian and Noobs.I recommend Raspbian.Also there is 3rd party OS and Older version OS you can try that also if you need. The Raspberry Pi is a small computer have the size of your palm.It have high computational power than Arduino. Have an OS (Operating System) it is in debian format like Jessie,Wheezy etc.....
